"The Genius Extreme World Go Festival" project became the winner at the presidential grant foundation.

The World Go Festival will take place in Vladivostok alongside the 41st World Go Championship. The project is aiming at setting a trend for intellectual development among young people with Go as an example.
Genius Extreme competed against 9379 other projects presented by NPOs from all over the country and it ended among 1990 competition winners.

The World Go Festival is a series of educational activities which finds itself at the junction of popularizing strategic thinking, creative self-fulfillment, and research of new technologies. The idea behind this festival is to connect the separate groups of creatives, intellectuals and lovers of extreme activities.

One of the main features of the project is holding team engineering competitions among school and college students during which they will be developing a teaching interface for interaction between people and AI. This has to be done in such a way so as to increase the chance of victory and not to lose the element of sport. During preparatory stages festival events will be held in 17 regions of the country.

Today Russia boasts Europe's largest Go players community spreading around 50 different regions of Russia. Go is a tool for developing strategic thinking, which has been used in Asian countries for a long time for creating high-technology clusters and for preparing highly qualified professionals in the sphere of new technologies.
