The legends from ancient Chinese

The legends from ancient Chinese manuscripts set the date of the creation of Go back to 3000 or 2000 BC. Allegedly it was invented by one of the legendary Chinese emperors or their chancellors. The first real evidence (Go boards and stones discovered by archaeologists) and records of actual games date back to the first centuries AD. In the 7th century Go came to Japan, where it became greatly popular from the 15th century onwards.
