Ministry of sports of Russia acknowledged online Go tournaments

It will be possible to receive ranks and titles when playing in online Go tournaments, said Sergei Pavlov, the chairman of the rules and rating commission of the Russian Go Federation. As of now online tournaments can be included into the unified schedule that is ratified by the Ministry of sports. These changes in the rules were approved by both the Ministry of sports and the Russian Go Federation. Head of the RGF commission noted that chess and checkers players were also trying to get their online tournaments to be officially recognized. "The pandemic simply sped up this process", — said Pavlov.
