In China they are beginning to use digital Go boards in official competitions. These boards are compact, they can automatically broadcast games to a Go server and they can even serve as a worthy opponent. In the future these interactive boards will be able to store game variations so they can become a great tool for practice.
A digital board also allows you to participate in Go tournaments from any location. A traditional Go board (a goban) looks like a little table made of solid wood. It’s gorgeous but it’s not mobile and you need cameras and a stable internet connection to access a server.
So we are really looking forward to this novelty gadget and … let’s play some Go!
