41st Go World Amateur
Go Championship
  • Russia is the first European country to host the World Amateur Go Championship during its 40-year history

  • Representatives of 77 countries and territories will take part in the WAGC 2021
ATTENTION!
Providing a negative PCR test for Covid-19 that was done no earlier than 3 days before arrival is mandatory. Spectators are not allowed into the playing area.
The 41st World Amateur Go Championship 2021 will be held in Russia. This decision was made at the 38th International Go Federation Board and General Assembly meeting in Guiyang in 2017. The Russian Go Federation qualified to host the championship of Asia's biggest strategy game.

For the first time in 40 years the WAGC is held outside of Asian countries. Representatives of 77 countries and territories will be warmly welcomed in the Russian capital of the Far East.

Host country selection is logical — Russian team is the leader of European Go: in the last 20 years we were champions 15 times. Today almost every region of the country has its Go clubs.

Organizing the fanzone will get thousands of people in Vladivostok involved in the WAGC program and Internet broadcasts will let everyone on the planet watch the championship online.
